Who's Ready for the 4th of July? We know at least two who are.

Cameron, Penny, Steph, Brandon, Al, Joleen, and mom are coming up for the last Washington 4th of July (with Washington style fireworks) for the Wongs. Chenin is also coming down for the party. Hope you all have a great 4th of July!

Nancy, Guy, and the boys come for a visit

Nancy, Guy, Andrew, Christopher, and Matthew were vacationing in Portland and we got a chance to hang out with them for the day. They met up with me at Nike headquarters for lunch and carted them off to the Nike Employee Store to let their mom do some shopping. After that, they came over to the house for dinner. The weather was nice and the kids liked the multiple game systems going on simultaneously.

I got on the bus last week to ride to work from Vancouver and there was a TV crew onboard. The anchor sat next to me and asked if he could interview me since I commute. Check it out while its still on the net.

Portland Fit: Week 11 - Helvetia Half Marathon

While Kristen was sleeping soundly in bed, I was trucking along in Hillsboro at the Helvetia Half Marathon. It was a sunny day and decent weather to run 13 miles. Ended up with a time of 2:03:29. Decent time (9:25 min/miles). Shaved off 8 miles from my last best time. Lots of people... approx 5000 runners. Half completed. :)

Nike Tidbit: Changing of the Flag after a Tiger Win

A little piece of Nike info. On campus, each time Tiger wins a tournament, the flag in front of the Tiger Woods center changes to reflect the tournament he just won. This year, it hasn't changed much because of his surgery, but it has already changed due to his big win at Torrey Pines.

We also just had a celebration for the tour leads. It's my year two. Fun and gets me out of the office.

Summer not here yet in Washington

It's still cold and rainy here. As you can see, the cats are still bundling up together in the morning. Summer will probably around in July. :(

Week 10: 8 miles and prep for Helvetia Half Marathon

The mileage was reduced this week so we can rest up and be ready for the Helvetia Half Marathon (13.1 miles) next saturday. Should be fun, even if it is an Adidas event. :) Gotta rest up and buy some Goo for Saturday. Wish me luck.

Changes to the Master Bathroom

We made some changes to the master bathroom to make it more modern and up to date. Sewe below of the before and after pictures of the sink area.

And of the shower area. The colors we chose for the walls are Sycamore green. The shower has a lot more room. We like it.

Portland Fit: Week 9

Today was week 9 of training. 11 miles through Vancouver's Discovery Trail. The first couple of miles were tough, but after mile 4, the miles didn't feel any different from one to the next. Here's my proof. Next week is 8 miles to give us a breather for the Helvetia Half Marathon. Looking to beat my 2:11 1/2 marathon time.
