Old Man Wong bowls a 40.

Old Man Steve is on the downward slope of life, but did it in style. We went to this swanky bowling alley http://www.thegrandcentralbowl.com/grand_central with friends and have good food and drinks to celebrate my degeneration. We had some family in attendance. Chenin was able to come down from Lacey for the festivitie. They played old school 80's music because the new stuff is too loud for my old ears. Kristen got me a cake with a gravestone on it. Very fitting. It was a great way to celebrate my 40th. :)

Portland Fit: Week 4 (7 miles)

Quick Entry...
7 miles. No problem. The weather was very nice and it was my birthday, so all was good. Kristen taught yoga instead of the running. Probably a better choice. On my Nike+, Lance Armstrong told me that I burned a lot of calories. I am just getting ready for the party where I will be drinking beer and eating cake. Next week: we are off to Reno. Maybe we will get in a run up there.

The Princess Tour: Penny, Veda, and Aura visit Disneyland

Dog Sledding in Whistler

We had a great time Dog Sledding in Whister. Our doggies: Big Dog, Sheila, Ping Pong, Snuggles.. all were great dogs. Our guid took us for half the ride and then Kristen and I took turns driving the return ride. Check that task off our list. :)

It was a great sunny day in Whistler to sled. The snow was a little slushy on the mountain. We will try and head up earlier in the season for some snow boarding.

Vancouver Aquarium, Dim Sum, and 5 pin bowling

We spent the morning at the Vancouver Aquarium. They had turtles, big fish, and nasty bugs.

After the trip to the aquarium, we headed to Chinatown for Dim Sum. I did a final chance look for Jimmy's beef jerky, but no luck. Jimmy is out of business, so no more tasty jerky. We did some shopping and then napped before dinner. We had a Japanese fusion restaurant, then headed off to some 5 pin bowling that was recommended by our Canadian friend, Kerri. It was different. More like skee-ball than bowling. Tomorrow is dog sledding!

Vancouver Canada

Hey all, we are in Vancouver BC. From Vancouver to Vancouver in 5 hrs. The weather once we hit the border, was bright and sunny. We visited Granville Island before heading to our swanky resting spot, Opus Hotel.

We took a quick nap and decided to trek around Stanley Park and checked out the totem poles. Then we went searching for Chinatown and ended up in a shady shady shady part of town. Do not go to Chinatown in the dark. We ended up a hole in the wall Chinese place so Kristen could eat noodles and I had won ton. She said the noodles were the most satisfying meal in weeks. Go Canada.

Portland Fit Week 3: Finally, Sun!!

Short Post, but the weather was finally not snowing or raining. There were about 300 people running. Many have not run 5 miles before. Us? We're veterans :) Not really. Good run. No injuries so far. Next week 6 miles.

Portland Fit Week 2: So far so good.

Here's what we wrote 3 yrs ago: "Week 2 - 4 miles. Done! We are on our way for the marathon! So far so good."

I would say the same as them. Got some replacement Nike Triax 10+ and rolling. The run was actually 5 miles, but not a worry. The weather is still a little sucky, but not hailing or snowing as last week. Just don't want another stress fracture.

Week 3 here we come! Cheers!

Dad's Birthday on the 31st

Dad's birthday was last week. Jen and mom went to the hill to visit him. We did not get to, but will visit when we go down to California in May. Here's my favorite picture of Dad and I on our trip to the Carribean.
Happy Birthday to Matt and Chenin as well!

Techie Tip: Hulu and Pandora

Here's two neat free sites that I have been very impressed with for Music and Video.

www.hulu.com - This site shows tv shows for free to watch. I got to watch the most recent "Chuck" episodes. They also have "My name is Earl" episodes as well.

http://www.pandora.com - This site is a free music listening site that hunts for music based on a genre or music group/person. I have been impressed with the music that they played from my entry of "Crystal Method"

Check it out and tell us what you think.
