Snow in Spring?

It has been a crazy season! We thought Spring was going to bring more sun, but it also brought Rain, Hail, and Snow! Here's some pictures of the snow last week.

Happy New Year! The Wongs and Lees got together for a dim sum lunch to celebrate the upcoming year. Davis had his fill of sticky rice, chicken feet, and shiu mai. :) We wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!

Christmas 2011 - 5 Family Events in 3 days and we're tired. :)

Hi all,
We hope you all had a great Christmas. We did. Lots of travelling so Davis could experience Christmas at it's fullest. It was filled with a bunch of firsts this year. Steve carved his first turkey, dressed up as Santa, and built his first outdoor Christmas decoration (Rudolph & Hermey). Kristen made her first pillow cases for Kyle, Zoe, and Allison. Davis got to sit on Santa's lap as well as enjoy the experience of unwrapping presents. We wish you all the best and a happy 2012!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Two Thanksgiving dinners, Davis' second birthday with Mom & Jen, Zoe's 4th birthday, the Sacramento Zoo, and Fairy tale land, all in one long weekend. Davis. It was more fun than any Black Friday sale! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.

Davis' 3rd Birthday

We celebrated Davis' 3rd birthday at the Plumper Pumpkin Farm with his classmates and friends this weekend. The sun was shining, Grandpa Al & Grandma Jo came up to visit, lots to do at the pumpkin patch, and his classmates were there to celebrate his birthday. Davis had a great time. Happy 3rd birthday, Davis!

Family Reno Trip

We had our family trip to Reno and had a great time eating, swimming, shopping, and gambling. Mom was the big winner of the weekend. See blow for her big wins on the penny slots. Davis came away with a bunch of stuffed animals from Uncle Jen's arcade skills. We look forward to going again next year! (Click on the image to see the other pictures)

Landscaping work is done!

We are done with our landscaping! Baseline Landscapes came in and in less than 3 weeks they were done. Here some pictures and comments on the changes. We look forward for you to come visit our new yard. :) Here's some of the high level picts and comments.

1) Rock wall to flatten out the usable lawn. Removed some of the smaller shrubs and moved the Japanese maple into the back yard. Added a stone walkway.


2. Removed all the river rock and created a concrete pathway on the left to flow into a larger back patio. We have a cover for A/C.


3. The back patio was extended and stone tiles were cut and cover the patio. We cleared out the plants, moved the maple tree to the corner, added new plants, and extended the lawn.


4. The right side of the house, we cleared out the old trees, plants, planting boxes, and compost bin to extend the yard. Added flagstone steps, new plants, and an edible garden for Davis with apples, tomatoes, and blueberries.

Davis' 2nd school year comes to an end

Year 2 at Paterno ended Thursday. No more Corky Cortez classsroom. His new classroom is Burt Bruin where there's bigger toys and a lareger play yard. Here's some pictures from year two!

Summer Fun Part III - Bridge Pedal & Oregon Aquarium

The summer fun continues with the Portland Bridge Pedal. Tina and Mook-lan came down to visit and to ride over the Portland bridges. We rode over 6 of them and Tina & Mook-lan rode over 8. The weather was great!

This past weekend, we took a drive over to the Oregon Coast and visited the Newport Aquarium to get away from the summer heat. They had an impressive aquarium tunnel with sharks and fishes swimming over and under us. We even saw a scuba diver in the tank! Davis liked the fish and the puffin birds.

Summer Fun Part II - Pizza Time & County Fair

Davis has been having so much fun with his friends and the activities in Portland. We went to John's Incredible Pizza with the McCaffreys and Davis had a great time with his buddy , Ben. We also visited the Washington County Fair and he was mesmerized with all the animals. He just loves cows and goats. :)
